Marija Lekovic completes her signing with Valencia Basket 

Montenegrin point guard Marija Lekovic (1.70 m, Bar, 21/07/2003, 22 years old) is now officially a new Valencia Basket player for the 2025-26 season, after successfully passing the medical and physical examinations, as well as the cardiac and stress tests at Quirónsalud.

The new “taronja” playmaker underwent her medical this Friday at the Quirónsalud Mercado de Colón Medical Center, under the supervision of Valencia Basket’s head doctor, Dr. Vicente Sebastiá, as well as the cardiac tests carried out by Dr. Catheline Lauwers, with satisfactory results.

The Montenegrin player joins Valencia Basket from Perfumerías Avenida Salamanca, a team she joined in February 2025 and with which she played twelve games in the Liga Femenina Endesa. Despite her youth, Lekovic already has significant experience in professional basketball, having started at just 15 years old with Buducnost Bemax. Her performance in the summer of 2023 — where she stood out with Montenegro’s senior national team in the EuroBasket Women and was the top scorer of the U20 Women’s European Championship — led her to sign with Fenerbahçe. With the Turkish team, she added to her trophy cabinet, starting last season by winning both the European Super Cup and the Turkish Super Cup before finishing the year in Spain.
